Warm Wishes & Sunny Smiles

Happy New Year! Is it snowing where you are? How about a warm and sunny card!

This is my favorite flip flop die, made by Top Dog Dies (sadly no longer in business). I think the straps can be over or under but I like them tucked under the base. Made this card for my sister-in-law in Hawaii. She makes these adorable koa wood embellishments so it's fun to add them to cards I make for her. Added a small rhinestone to the flower centers, sentiment is from MFT Polynesian Paradise.

Playing along with Case This Sketch #155; a fun one!

Also linking up to Shopping Our Stash #234 challenge with thoughts of Leslie. I purchased some Top Dog dies when they were on sale; this is the first time I've used this die. Leslie would say hooray!

Thanks for the visit!

  2. Such a sweet card, Sheryl! No snow here (but also not flip-flop weather). This card is refreshing and fun!

  3. Oh, this is super cute!! I love this and had to pop over when I saw your card in the linky. It's so cold here that I'm already thinking about my beach vacation which is still many months away. Your card brings that beachy feeling home with the flip-flops and the sandy background!

  4. I love this take on the sketch. Is that cork that you used for the sand? It looks great. Love the PP you used for the flip flops. It was snowing where I live when you posted this - I happened to be at the beach (or down the shore as we say in NJ). Flip flops are a lovely thought.

    1. Hi Stephanie, I used some hoarded PP for the sand. It's even better than the real sandpaper I used to use for beachy cards! Some day we will have to visit the Jersey shore! We're all the way over in Seattle.
