Naked Cake!

Welcome to InKing Royalty's September Blog Hop! During this year's blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites - our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month's projects feature candy and treats, so prepare your sweet tooth for some wonderful inspiration. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you'll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Cake is certainly a treat, and I was inspired to create one! A naked cake has most of the frosting scraped off the side. Here's the inspiration for my card:

Isn't it fun how the nakedness is from the birch background stamp? The small peonies are colored in Petal Pink. I am surprised at how often I reach for this color. I'm usually a brights gal. Soft Sea Foam is the perfect complement. If I had Soft Sea Foam ribbon I would have wrapped the bottom of the cake with it. I colored a small strip instead.

Stamps: Prized Peony, Free as a Bird (small flower), Birch background. Sentiment is from the retired Cake Soiree (could even use a wedding sentiment!)
Dies: Peony dies
Misc: Tasteful Textile embossing folder

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you'll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Candy Ford at Stamp Candy. There's lots of inspiration to be found in this group!
